Winter Training Academy sessions will be be on Sunday afternoons beginning January 22, 2012 and run for eight consecutive weeks. Cost is $125 per player and the group will be capped at 18 players. Players should have at least one year of local club play and be willing and able to work on both small-sided drills and individual skills development. Players will need sneakers and shin pads (NO CLEATS).

The Vincent United U13 Crush, coached by Craig Reed, clinched the Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer League Division 3 championship this weekend with a 2-1 win over the Campbelltown-Palmyra Youth Soccer Club. The Crush went 6-2-0 in the season, scoring 18 goals while allowing 9. They edged out PA Classics ’98 Elite by one point for the title.

The Vincent United U11 Magic, coached by Mark Stevenson, took home first place in the Western Lehigh United Fall Fest over Columbus Day weekend. Allowing just two goals in four games, the Magic went 4-0 against teams from Pennsylvania and New York. Propelled by solid goalkeeping and shut-down defense by the back line, the Magic’s speedy wingers were able to counter-attack quickly and often, serving up quality crosses for the midfielders and forwards to capitalize on, accounting for five of the eight total goals scored.  The team elevated its game to a new level and showed its true colors by coming back from a 0-1 deficit at halftime of the final game to win the championship game, 2-1.

The Vincent United U13 Crush team participated in the 5th Annual Stars Cup held over Labor Day weekend in Lancaster, Massachusetts. After finishing group play with 1 win and 1 tie, the team advanced to the semi finals, topping the PDA Gunners, 2-1. The Crush then beat a team from Scorpions S.C.  in Massachusetts, 2-1, to claim the tournament title.
