Both the Vincent United U14 Pride (above, top) and U11 Chaos went unbeaten at the 2010 Spirit United Kick-Off Classic XXIV over the weekend of August 28 & 20 to claim championships. For the Chaos, a team that has been together for just three months, it was their first championship of any kind. The group won its round-robin division with one-goal wins over GCVSA and T/E, a 6-1 victory over Radnor and a 1-1 draw with Haverford. Congratulations to head coach Stacey Blevins and her players.
The Pride’s title was its third tournament championship in just four weeks. After winning the West Chester Summer Classic and the 22nd Annual Colleen Reilly tournament in the month’s first three weeks, head coach Joe Margusity’s team went 3-0 in group play and allowed just one goal while scoring eight times. The Pride downed Maryland’s Thunder Extreme, 1-0, in the final. The team’s 11-0-1 August was very impressive. They outscored their opponents 34-7, earning eight shutouts. Good work by JM and his assistants Ashley Margusity and John Miller.
